Our Farm Story
Salvere Farm, located at the northeast end of Otisco Lake in Marietta, NY, is a certified organic, family-run farm since 2005. We specialize in a variety of vegetables, herbs, and small fruits, with a primary focus on garlic and shallots available for online sales, wholesaling, and farm pickup. Our farming approach combines traditional organic practices with the latest in eco-agriculture, strictly avoiding synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. This commitment enhances the nutrient density of our produce, evidenced by rising Brix levels, which signify improved mineral density and plant health, boosting flavor and extending shelf life. Our products have reached customers through our website, food hubs, farmers' markets, restaurants, stores, and a member-supported CSA.
Our philosophy
The farm's name, Salvere, embodies our philosophy of health and preservation, derived from the same Latin root as Salvia, the genus that includes sage. Historically revered both for its medicinal and culinary properties, sage symbolizes the essence of our farm's mission. As the ancient Chinese wisdom suggests, "How can a man grow old who has sage in his garden?" Salvere Farm continues to cultivate not just crops, but a legacy of health, sustainability, and community nourishment.
The benefits of shopping local
Quality
Our focus is on producing only the highest quality products. Soils and plants are tested to determine nutrient levels and amended as needed to ensure optimal health. Seed stock is rigorously scouted during the growing season to rogue out any that are not up to standards, or show signs of disease. Crops are rotated annually and any new stock is tested before planting.
Organic
All of the crops we grow here at the farm are Certified Organic under the USDA National Organic Program by NOFA-NY. Most of the other products we buy in from neighbors are Certified Organic also. At times we will buy in some naturally grown garlic that is not Certified Organic. Any non-certified organic products are labeled on the website. However, all of the farms we work with are committed to sustainable agriculture and growing without harmful chemicals.

The website is designed to make the ordering process as easy as possible. Just click, pay, and receive your order directly to your door. You can always come pick up your garlic here at the farm also.
